One of the things that makes Batman such a great theme for the most recent LEGO movie is the wonderful cast of villains and adversaries to draw upon.
The Joker steals most of the limelight in The LEGO Batman Movie, and while many classic characters make an appearance in the film, it is often fleeting. One of those is the iconic feline femme fatale, Catwoman – but thankfully that hasn’t stopped her getting her own tie-in LEGO set.
This is a small set, which features the Catcycle, the facade of a Jewellery store, and three minifigures – Catwoman, Batgirl, and Robin.
The cycle was a nice little bit of engineering for our 5-year-old daughter to get into. It’s a low riding bike, similar in style to the Batbike from The Dark Knight movie – as well as vehicles from previous LEGO sets like the Gotham City Cycle Chase with Batman and Harley Quinn. The jewellery store facade offers a little more option for playability, with the store clearly the target for Catwoman’s latest criminal venture.
With Catwoman and Batgirl (alongside Robin), this is a great set for upping your female comic characters minifigures roster, and it’s great to have another female dominated LEGO superhero set.
This will be a quick build for most, and will likely be more suited to a child than an adult collector. But it’s a nice addition to the LEGO collection – especially if you’re LEGO Batman fans like us.
Hopefully, there will be a sequel to The LEGO Batman Movie, and that this classic Batman villain will get the larger role she deserves.
The LEGO Batman Movie Catwoman Catcycle Chase (70902) has an RRP of £19.99. We were sent a set free of charge by LEGO for the purposes of this review.
